On the road again

I had plans to get the bus to Reading today, but last night I developed a sore throat and a throbbing head. But first  I had my haircut at the house mid morning.  So I scaled down my aspirations, and ended up walking into the village. I had some shopping to do, fancied a coffee at the new coffee shop/wine bar and also get some medications. As it’s downhill to the village I elected to walk in  and get the bus back home. It just so happens the bus has our road on its route. I walked into the village, it was a nice sunny day, as I neared the village and St Mary’s church, I saw the lady who I visited at the beginning of the week. I  carried on, and using the pedestrian crossings, found my way to the pharmacy. After this, I went to the supermarket and got the things I needed. My next stop, as I had time, was to visit The Orangery I sat down, ordered a nice coffee and a cake. They do all sorts of different things, I am sure I will visit them again soon.

I walked to the bus stop, but before it arrived, a neighbour stopped by me and gave me a lift. I checked my phone and with the walking I had done in the house, I had done about two kilometres. I was tired now, with the effects of the walk and cold, so I had a nap. There was a problem to sort out with our energy supplier, and then I made this meal for myself and my lodger, it’s called Singapore noodles. It is a nice dish, with left over chicken, prawns, bacon in a curry, soy sauce and sherry sauce. My lodger sent me a message saying he was going to be late, so I had mine after a shower. I still feel a bit tired, so I don’t think I will be late to bed tonight. Here is a photo in the recipe book of the meal. Mine did not look very dissimilar to the photo!
