The jigsaw is finished

The dog puzzle is finished, just a day before my kind friends who gave it to me, are returning to the US. Thank you again!

Last night we had the Squash and Chick pea curry, I asked my lodger to taste it before we had it, in case it wasn’t to his taste, but it was. He made some very tasty potato mash to go with it. While we were having dinner, I asked him to show me where he lives in the Ukraine, it sounds very nice, in the shadow of mountains and near the plains. He showed me photos of the house he has over there, which looks really nice. He has installed a wood burner and I saw the photos of its installation. I said he must be missing his wife and daughter, he said yes, and the power stations are being pummelled again.

We watched another GBBO, this time the bread episode, I think he enjoyed it. It tends to spark off conversations, which is good. We then watched a gardening/cookery program with Hugh  Ferning Whittingstall, and that led me to show my lodger the photo of my big carrots growing in pipes. That had us talking about the allotment that I  had, how little it cost and where it was. He said I could grow things in pots in this garden, which I am thinking about. We also talked about what he might do with his friend who lives opposite in terms of setting up a business. In the morning, the nurse arrived, I thought I could see someone in our empty pond, although the rain last night has filled it to about two centimetres.

This afternoon I have the physio and a coffee stop, on the way back, to meet a friend. As a footnote, today I talked to the lady who lives on Serifos who runs the Dog Palace, and when the dog called Victor was in a bad way, her coworker rang her, as she was at home and held his phone by Victor’s ear. She spoke to him, and he did respond. Minutes later he went over the rainbow bridge.
