More musings…
It’s been a while, since I posted, so a quick update. My lodger has had a few days off, which means in the evenings we have been watching tv and chatting away. ( well with Google translate). We have shared some jokes and discussed differences between our countries. One thing I think he thought was strange was our tv licence fee. I don’t think they have anything like that over there. I think he was also amused, about how vigilant most people are at paying it! I made my first Christmas card, it’s a bit basic, needs some glitter on it, maybe the next effort will be better, bit like SpaceX’s efforts with their Starship.
We have both been cooking, when we watched the GBBO an advert for the sponsoring supermarket, had them squash flat a baked potato. Well they do that in Ukraine. It’s hidden behind the excellent mushroom stroganoff, and after squashing it’s cooked a bit more to make it crispy. The half chicken fillet, cooked in butter was decadent but very nice. Needless to say there was a salad as part of this meal too.
I have been doing more price matching for the local Horticultural society, and it’s clear what supplier we will go with now. I have sent out the minutes of the last meeting and will attend the last store opening morning on Sunday. I have been to see a lot of people in my immediate area, early in the week, one kind lady bought these German cookies which were very nice!
I have got my lodger on my car insurance, which will be handy for both of us, he fancies a visit to the coast, which I think might be nice. Another meal we had, we had a baked Camembert, which I haven’t had for years. My physio is getting me even more mobile and starting to walk inside the house with no sticks. It means more discomfort in a different part of the leg, but important to keep progressing as we move closer to that March 2024 date…
