Happy Easter
There hasn’t been too much of interest to post on recently, I was waiting until today, as I was expecting to be able to confirm, the family had their flat and were going to move in tomorrow. Well they got their keys but shall we politely say, that due to what seems like a simple thing, they can’t move in. Unfortunately they have prepayment meters and the prepayment card and key they put money on to pay for energy are not in the flat. So they have registered for replacements. For them and me it’s frustrating, I have seen photos of the flat with all the furniture and items they were given, it’s on the first floor and it looks really nice. Easter will naturally delay the sending of the key and card, I have warned them of this, I think in a weeks time they should be there. I will go and visit them at some point.
So this is an interesting cake. The lodger’s wife is on a fasting diet, no dairy, meat or fish. So as she can’t eat my usual cake offerings I found this recipe, I did not hold out a lot of hope for it, but it worked out really well! The lemon icing, I put the grated rind off the lemon in it as well as using the juice. It’s a US recipe but has the weights and fluid amounts in grams and millimetres as well as cups.
Ever heard of the font Trajan Pro? Thought not. The TRHA logo was designed using it and when I came up with a strap line for the web page (this is the test version, it’s not in production yet) “grow with us”, it’s clear the text had to be in the same colour as the logo and the same font. It’s an old font and freely downloadable. But to persuade my web pages to use the font, was a bit tricky and I ended up spending a lot of time yesterday trying to get it to work. Eventually I did but not on my phone, if you look carefully at the top of the T it’s not level, it’s curved. But this morning, I cleared the cache and history on the phone and the curve is there. I had already tried the force reload option yesterday. I am quite proud of the things I have added to the new version.
While I was doing this yesterday, I was dog sitting this guy, we went for a walk early in the day as rain was forecast and did appear. Luckily he lives in ten steps from the Cosy Nook so that’s where we had lunch. I stayed until early evening, walked home and then heard news about the flat. There is a funny story, that’s worth telling. I think somehow my lodger ended up discussing ages ago about the fact he had seen mothers parking their cars near here and walking their children to the local school in their dressing gowns. As he was using Google translate I thought this was a typo. But as I walked from the house to look after this little chap, there were two ladies, leading their kids out of the car, in their dressing gowns, off to school. Happy Easter everyone.
