Five year old birthday party

I took my ninety year old neighbour to the micro allotment. The other side of the brick wall  that divides the plots from the churchyard is where memorial stones are where ashes of passed people are including her husband. He had a plot next to my original one. My plot is worked by someone else now. We walked past these and headed further in, to see the fruits of my labour. We chatted about other things we will  grow, including things she is bringing on in her husbands greenhouse. We worked out which orientation the French beans will be, and watering. Turns out the folks at the plot we met, have a water butt they can let us have. It must be sad for her to go up there, as her husbands plot doesn’t look like it used to. I remember clearing the far end for him years ago.

At the committee meeting of the. TRHA we were treated by hail crashing into the sky lights of the ladies extension, who was hosting the meeting. I took the remains of the marbled cake that I made the other day, which was enjoyed. I am much more involved in the maintenance of the store buildings now, not doing the maintenance, but organising things that we need to get done. Unfortunately another nasty surprise appeared. The owner of the house had her patio doors open, and someone spotted a rat calmly making its way through them. Her husband was despatched, with rat trap under his arm to catch it.

I have been seeing a few people this week, and I have seen my physio too. I said I thought the days I went to the gym my ankle felt better, as it gets more of a workout than it does just walking. So I am going to go to the gym, another two days, just to try and speed up the building of muscle, and keeping that ankle mobile. The physio said it’s very early days, these things take time.

I had a nice invitation to a five year olds birthday party. ( above, as she was as a puppy  )  She won’t be eating the roast chicken dinner we will be having in the late afternoon, but she will get a treat. Of course she would love the chicken dinner, I am sure she will get a taste. I remember the first time I met her, she was being looked after by a dog trainer. She was a little puppy, but she is grown up now and a lovely member of the family.

Finally today, I did a walk for a lady who needed a last minute walk for her Whippet and Jack Russell. We did an hour walk and got as far as Ruscombe. There is a little woods, where there are wonderful bluebells,  we did not go in as it’s still a bit soggy. It’s was nice and sunny, and I did not need the coat I was wearing.
