Messing about by the river.

After a week looking after a dog I knew from a previous sit, it was nice to get out in the sunshine and do a real big proper walk. My friends up the road, asked me if I could look after their chocolate lab for the day, there is only one answer! Another friend was dog sitting one of those poodle crosses, I met him and he seemed a nice dog. So after another visit to the gym, I drove myself and the Labrador to meet the poodle cross and my friend. They got on fine, so we headed out to Hurley. There is a nice walk along the river, it goes to Marlow, we weren’t sure how far we would go. But when we got to the bridge at Temple, there had been a tree fall, the bridge was closed. Pity there weren’t signs warning us of this before! So we retraced our steps, and drove to Marlow. After parking we went to a coffee shop my friend knew. The dogs were well behaved, but then had a sort of boxing match, they were not in anyone’s way and it was funny to see! We both had Guinness and chocolate cake, need to try to make that!

After our refreshment we then walked along the river. Coco loves the water and hopped in at any point she could. My friends charge, wasn’t so sure but eventually he was in enjoying the clear and clean water, thank goodness. It wasn’t long before we got to Bisham Abbey.

Did you see the cormorant? It was a nice sunny day and not too hot. In a Willow tree were cobwebs, but they had been made by caterpillars, eating the leaves inside the webs.

We carried on until we reached near the point where we turned back earlier, and then went back to Marlow. There is a classic photo opportunity as you near Marlow, with the church and bridge ahead of you. Unfortunately my photo doesn’t do it justice.

After dropping my friend and her charge off, I went back to our house, I had a visit to a friend, whose hot water wasn’t working, I managed to fix that luckily. I also had a compost heap to empty. After this we walked into the village and we had a pizza in a local pub. By the time we got back to the Labradors house, one of her owners was home. It’s been a super day.  We walked about eleven km.
