Doggy heaven

So another sit ends, this one with the chocolate lab I have known since she was a puppy. She has a mantra I ought to adopt, she lives life to the full and enjoys every moment of it. Of course it’s easier when you are a dog, as long as you have a loving home and dog sitter. I was sleeping in the games room, on the ground floor, and she dropped in at 5.30am to request her breakfast. Eventually after many more off you go moments and her giving me lots of cuddles, I decide it justs not worth the effort and got up. The breakfast is hoovered up and next on her list is how much she can blag of my breakfast, usually an apple and a pear.

After this, a morning walk beckons. For a Labrador this is not a walk, it’s a foraging expedition as I have said before. We have done several walks including the one from Shiplake to Sonning, and not going in the garden of the Village Hamper. I did the walk with a friend and took this photo of the countryside.

I made a lemon meringue pie for friends, during which I dropped an egg on the kitchen floor, the Labrador kindly cleaned that up. The pie went down well, unfortunately not everybody got a piece. I will have to make another one! The friend I did the walk with gave me this rather nifty book.

I think the thing I like about this dog, is she is very straightforward. There are no surprises and she enjoys my company as I enjoy hers. I will be looking after her again soon, thank goodness. She loved the allotment and I think I finally found something she won’t eat, Spinach!

Finally a video of her having fun with a hose, she loves drinking from them.
