A beautiful day
There were no dramas in the gardens today, no animals to rescue. But we decided to go for a walk from the pretty village called Faros. We have done this walk many times before, you can go as far as the Chrisopigi church, but we decided to stop halfway at Ag. Ioannis. Two reasons, we are being careful not to overwalk my friends dog, he is nearly twelve but doing well. The second, a lady who lived near Chrisopigi no longer lives there.
Unfortunately Faros has gone a bit upmarket and the traditional Greek tavernas have upgraded themselves to expensive eateries which is a shame. But at this time of the year, it’s quiet and you can always bring your own coffee and food. My friends have an acquaintance who lives here and we got a glimpse of her amazing garden, right on the beach. The path follows the coastline going up and down. Breathtaking views all around in the glorious sunshine.
There are a few flowers visible even now, but my friends told me in the spring, there is a profusion of them and I can believe that based on my experience on Serifos. There is a sort of old stone jetty, it probably was used to load or unload something many years ago. Below seagulls and other birds soared around the coastline enjoying the sun. My friends dog, had to be well in front of us, pack leader style.
As we neared the church, someone was there, and we all knew her. She hasn’t seen me since my leg was fixed, I always used to joke whenever I came to Sifnos, we used to see her in the car park in Apollonia. We had a chat with her and my friends dog smelt cat food on her. She had brought some but there were no cats around, so the dog got it.
